Scott Wallace describes his recent work as a "labor of love" and says it acually isnt all that recent, meaning only some of it is. "Aquarium" The Underwater Planet currently measure 32x48 and may continue to grow. It is made up of 6 stretched canvas pieces measuring 16 inches x16 inches each.

I spend alot of time on the road doing trade shows. Contrary to popular belief living like a rockstar gets old after a while. It also doesnt mix well with early morning business meetings. Most of the time you are alone on the road. Half the year you are driving and the other half you are flying. Scheduales are usually pretty tight and you spend most of your time going from a convention center to a hotel and then from the hotel to the nearest highway or airport and than on to the next town. In an attemp to feal more at home I brought a compact version of my studio with me. I really enjoyed going back to painting small. It allowed me to paint at a table, where I am most comfortable rather than an easle. The fact that my set up was portable afforded me to paint anywhere any time. This helped with working with inspiration and I found myself painting more often.

I think I started the 1st piece either at the Americas Mart, Decor in Atlanta or the New York Art Expo. I worked on it at the furniture show in Dallas and than finished it up while spending a couple weeks in Vegas at the WCAF show and the Vegas World Furnature and Accessories Show. Later that year I started the second piece at the Philadelphia Buyers Market and then didnt touch it again until I did a little tour through Florida that started in my home town of Ft Myers stoping in several cities on the way to Clearwater. I painted one night each in Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, St. Agustine, Daytona, West Palm and Miami.

This was a painting that I would put down and pick up over a long period of time. It started with one square and before I new it had grown to six. So as of now I'm finished. Or maybe just finished for now. This painted has traveled with me from Portland, Maine to Sacramento, California with stops in Chicago, High Point, Tupelo and a whole lot more.

I hope you enjoy it I certainly did. its been my home, my comfort and friend through alot of miles and lonely nights. Dive in. The water's warm.
