"It is the artist's responsibility to observe nature, and interpret it through her own vision, rather than attempt to imitate"
This visual impression is the origin of Adria Becker's floral portraits. The exuberance of colors, patterns and shapes is a suggestive evocation of her subject. She is inspired by the magnificence of nature, and by the innate physicality of the medium. Spontaneously mixed and poured paint suggest veins, rivers, and lava flow, which she guides, but cannot predict. A songwriter dubbed her style "Modern Romantic". Adria's love of Tahiti and it's mystical beauty has led her there many times. These visits stir up emotions apparent in her art. Her enthusiasm is shared with others who have seen her exhibitions and collected her work throughout the United States and Europe, and by her students of painting and drawing at the University of Judaism in Bel Air, California. Adria has done numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her original paintings are available as well as giclee prints. Watch Adria Becker paint on You Tube
