Malinda Trick

 MALENDA TRICK

Malenda Trick, a 2006 License Magazine Top Ten Licensor, has painted professionally for over 40 years. Her portrait commissions include Fred Thompsom, Marsha Blackburn and George W. Bush. Malenda specializes in 19th century impressionism having learned to paint in the style of the old masters when the Tennessee State Museum commissioned her to reproduce the works of the great impressionists of the 19th century. Her aggressive style employs bold, flowing lines, vibrant colors and stimulating textures that capture the essence of contemporary life. Her style is very distinctive and has often been labeled "Romantic Impressionism". A natural evolution of her interest in the great impressionists such as Monet, Renoir and Degas, her own style incorporates a rich palate of colors and tones that provide real depth to her work.

During the spring of each year, Malenda spends much of her time in Europe. In France, she absorbs the atmosphere of Paris and the budding of springtime as it only happens in Paris. She spends weeks touring the wine regions of Bordeaux, Pauliac, and Margaux. She travels to southern Italy, Sardinia, and Sicily. Venice is one of her favorite cities with its fabled history and romantic waterways. These visits have inspired her to create superb landscapes that are prized by their owners’ worldwide.

Malenda demonstrates her varied artistic talents in portraitures of many prominent people including President George W. Bush, former United States Senator/Actor Fred Thompson, former Tennessee Governor Ned Ray McWherter, Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen, Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee Titans football team owner, Bud Adams, and country music performers, Vince Gill and Amy Grant. Her private and corporate patrons include Katharine Hepburn, Sam Snead, Martina McBride, Word Records, Cone Oil, Dollar General Stores, Kirkland's, Stein Mart, Target, Costco, Wal Mart, Tennessee State University and the Tennessee State Museum.

Malenda’s art has found its way onto hundreds of different products with manufacturers in the USA and UK licensing her works. You can find her work on tapestries manufactured by Beljen Mills, Pure Country Weavers, Manual Woodworkers and Weavers, and Simply Home. A wide variety of home decor and tabletop products including trays trivets coasters manufactured by Mohawk Home, Evergreen, Thirstystone, Hindostone, and Highland Graphics. One of Malenda’s most popular product lines is the Diva Does . . . hair brush collection manufactured by Pacific Enterprise which is popular all over the world. These brushes have three dimensional divas on a premium quality hair brush designed by Malenda for the Woman that has everything.

Malenda has shown her art at the Tennessee State Museum, Tennessee State University, The Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tennessee, International Art Expo in New York City, Biennale Internazionale dell’Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy, the Moultrie Georgia Art Center, the Chilton County, Georgia Art Museum
