Michaela Tomassini

Born in Rome (Italy), Michaela learned about art from her mother Anna early in life. Following her direction she started five years of classical study at the First Art School of Rome gaining a scholarship and a diploma in Fine Arts. Since she moved to Los Angeles she has been working in the music and movie industry for the past fifteen years creating art and billboards for Tower Records on Sunset (Hollywood), Warner Brothers, Sony, Disney WEA, Virgin, and all the major record companies.

Her list of celebrity works include Madonna, Nicholas Cage, Sean Connery,Ed Harris, Prince, Janet Jackson, Shakira, Pink, Elvis, The Beatles, Jimmi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, James Dean, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Oscar De Lahoya, Leonardo Di Caprio, Marline Dietrich, Kurt Cobain and many more. If you have ever driven hollywood boulevard or the Sunset Strip you have most likely seen her work.

Attention to detail, experience in many techniques, and the large size of the canvases make Michaela’s work realistic, impressive, and unforgettable. A truly talented and devoted artist of classic Italian tradition

Michaela Tomassini's work is highly collectable and hard to find. With a reputation of painting on the red carpet most of her paintings are commissions and sold before they are ever painted.

Artist statement

Art is a way to express myself, a language like music, it’s like a conversation, a message or a statement instead of words , notes, I use colors and lines. Like a conversation, I need to have someone else on the other side of my artwork. Most of my inspiration comes from people faces, expressions, and from feelings, good and bad: Beauty, Love, Anger, Pain, or Missing Someone. With celebrity the face is there identity. I like to capture the power of something I see in somebody or something I feel. Color is a powerful tool. I can speak loud with the chromatic choice in a painting, like highlighting a detail with some color in a black and white work. Painting is journaling about my life.
