There was a great love of painting in my family. Sunday drives consisted of trips to study the clouds and landscapes. I was taught to look at things carefully. For this alone I am grateful. At the age of 6 years I attended van Dykhof School of Fine Art. At the age of 17, I started to assist in teaching children’s classes. I attended educational trips to Europe to study the masters.

I love the sounds of a garden. the smell of an orchard, or a vineyard in spring time. I have a passion for good honest hard-working people. I feel the peacefulness of the garden, and love to be among the grasses. I work the details up close then stand back and finish with brushes up to 38’’ long.
