Born and raised in Newcastle England, Sue Whitney studied in France with Werner Paulick, artist, and learned the printers inks technique. Her work has sold in England and the U.S. Sue’s style is simplistic and leaves much to the imagination. In such a complicated and materialistic world, it is somewhat soothing to view something that takes you away from all that, but at the same time lets the viewer involve his own creativity and make his own story. We all at some time or another have wanted to be somewhere else, or have been somewhere else. The suggestiveness of a line form or pattern gives one a feeling of something concrete yet without the hard cold cruelness of reality. “Art to me should be uplifting, something that takes you away from the daily grind of cultural experience. When I sit down to create, I get lost in another universe. I want to portray that to the viewer”.
