T. Marie is a body of work done as a husband and wife project by Tammy and Scott Wallace. "As a couple we were trying to do something outside of the daily grind. We work hard and have 2 beautiful girls. There isn't always much time left for each other at the end of the day and falling asleep in front of the TV isn't always the best way to spend that time."

Scott has always taken over a portion of the house with his art and music. One night an argument about him cleaning up his paint, that was making my kitchen look like a garage, ended in an all out war of throwing the contents of a 5 gallon bucket of Spackle at each other. This wasn't violent it was a way of breaking the tension in the fashion of a food fight. The yelling turned to immediate laughter and with our kitchen now destroyed and his painting a mess he looked at me and said 'the best thing about painting is that you can never ruin it, you just paint over your mistakes.' Like a scene out of the  movie ghost he held me from behind and started moving the Spackle around the canvas. We used kitchen utensils to make textures in the patterns and through our passion for each other the work started to come alive. This became our new date night. We would take time alone late at night when the kids were sleeping and just create each piece together with no other direction but our love. Rather than using brushes most of the work was done with our hands and fingers, many times while holding hands. Some of the pieces we actually did while standing on either end of the piece and kissing. We would dunk each others hands in the paint and spread them on the canvas with out seeing what was happening but feeling it. I will admit not all of those pieces came out beautiful just the way they were but were a base of the expression of the final outcome of the work. Unfortunately some of those pieces were lost in Hurricane Charley before we got them photographed.

I encourage anyone reading this to try something new in their relationship. You here the news all day at work in the car don't waste your time watching it again when you get home. How many times have you sat with the few minutes you have in your day and watched a rerun on TV that wasn't even that good the 1st time. Not everyone is creative but creativity can put a lot of spice in your relationship. Write a short story together, take a dance class, cook an extravagant meal, write a song, write a poem, make a scrap book, make a funny home video, paint a picture. Just play. Play like you were 5 years old and best friends.
